How long have you been on DeviantArt?
Hmm. About 8 years now, I suppose.
What does your username mean?
Nothing, really
Describe yourself in three words.
Tenacious, loyal, and creative.
Are you left or right handed?
Right handed
What was your first deviation?
Still really impressed that I did this with a mouse in Illustrator.
What is your favourite type of art to create?
I still really love traditional art, mostly pencil and paper. I love the way it looks and feels.
If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
Sculpting. There's something to be said about creating a tactile object that you can turn around and see from all angles that came from a block, be it clay, sculpy, marble, etc.
What was your first favourite?
I love, even now, the soft feel of this picture, like you really are looking down through a haze of rain. Certainly helps that the two girls in the picture look so jubilant about standing in the rain.
What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
Digital. I really respect people who can create without having to 'feel' their canvas. That, and there is so much amazing art out there done by artists that just blow me away using the digital medium.
Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
Ooo, tough call. There's so many amazing artists that I've discovered since joining DA that it is difficult to pin down just one.
If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
TeacupBee Granted, I did get to meet her at Fanime this year in San Jose, I was too unprepared to fully enjoy it since half the time I was going 'OMG!' in my head. I've been such a fan since coming across her work and I've just adore her Above the Clouds comic. I'd like to re-meet her and not be fan-girling in my head the whole time and be able to hold a conversation.
How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
Another tough question. There's a fair amount of deviants that have impacted my life. I mean, if I'm feeling uninspired or unmotivated to create something, I log in and browse through the new pieces that were uploaded both by artist I want and those I don't and a lot of the time, I get motivated to do something. If I had to pick just one, I would say AdorkaStock. I have used so many of her stock photos to create pieces that there are days when I wonder what I ever did without her stock to assist.
What are your preferred tools to create art?
An assortment of mechanical pencils and my Moleskine sketchbook. Lately I've been indulging my digital side on my tablet by using Mischief.
What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
At home, on my couch, with my headphones in. I don't happen to be able to do that lately, so it's become that much more of a place for me to create.
What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
Pleading the 5th on this one.
Hmm... hard to believe that my last update was back in July and I haven't really posted much since then. Can't say I've been working on much either. Still plan on posting the photos of the (now finished) art trade with stephanie-cost, who apparently posts even less than I do...
Been working on a project with a friend of mine. She's the writer, I'm the artist, enough said. With her permission I'll post what gets finished... but that means I actually have to have something to show for it, which right now I only have roughs.
See you around, 2014.
